These are defective boards that either do not power-on or have other assorted flaws. They typically have some good parts on them and they can be used for experimentation, 'builds', etc. If you are handy, parts can be 'harvested' and used to fix your own remote and this may be a less expensive alternative than sending it in for repairs. Some boards may actually be able to be repaired, but we can't guarantee this and our recommendation is to have no expectation that this can be done. We can tell you the following regarding each model:
- The Harmony One boards are 1st generation 7.2 and the LCD is damaged on each board. Most LCD's are cracked, but some have bad pixels or rendering issues. Most of the other parts on the board can be used, including charging pads, tactile button domes, IR emitters and receiver, crystals, etc.
- The Harmony 900 boards are 2nd generation and have the Foxconn LCD. The LCD's are intact and not physically damaged. However, some may have pixel damage or present with a white screen. Most of these would not power-on without stabilizing the board or 'twisting' the remote. Most of the other parts on the board can be used, including charging pads, tactile button domes, IR emitters and receiver, crystals, etc. These may also be able to be coaxed into working.
- The Harmony 880 and 890 boards do not come with an LCD, but all other parts are present. Most of the parts on the board can be used, including tactile button domes, IR emitters and receiver, crystals, etc.
